Nature: Lax _{(Alden is very down to earth and laid back. She doesn't care that much of other's opinions on her and tends to be an optimist going into things. She finds amusement in breaking some rules and messing around/anything to avoid work.)}

Hometown: Mossdeep City

History: Born into a small but happy family, Alden Hastings was the second child in her Mossdeep City home. Her family was by no means poor, but they weren't rich nor did they live in wealthy neighborhoods there. Her father was the stay at home dad who cooked and cleaned and her mother was the (slight) breadwinner. She was a factory worker who worked hard for most of the day, leading Alden to not be very close to her Flareon caretaker. The young Eevee grew very close to her father, a Vaporeon. She would often run to him when her brother, Stellan, who was 3 years older than her, would pick on her or do something stupid. Overall her family got along well, with a few conflicts about money matters.

From a young age, Alden was taught how to be a princess. Her father and mother entered her in pagents and contests everywhere, hoping to win some extra cash. They were going to turn their daughter into a money-making little girl (similar to toddlers in tiaras). Alden didn't know whether to agree or not with the idea. She liked the dresses and makeup, but showing off wasn't her thing. She had nothing to show and no talents, but she continued in hopes to please her parents. The look on their faces after she would get an honorable mention or nothing at all would crush her. She became somewhat stressed and tried many different things to see what she was good at so she could impress some judges. The only thing that ever clicked with her was writing, and you can't really show that in a child beauty pagent.

As she got older and kept trying to win these things, she began to get depressed. One loss later, she snapped. She ran out of the pagent and away in her dress, crying, into a nearby forest. Her brother, who had since evolved into an Umbreon, was one of the few people who listened and understood what she was going through. He had told her to say something to their parents multiple times but she had refused to do that. Stellan also knew that she would never be able to evolve into her dream of being an Espeon because she was so overwhelmed and stressed. He comforted her when she ran off, noticing a grassy rock nearby. He quickly shoved her into it before she could even realize, thinking it would be better if he blamed her for her inablity to evolve into Espeon (it was her parent's faults, indirectly). 

She evolved into a Leafeon, which made her happy and horrified at the same time. Alden would never be able to be a pagent girl again (yay!), as she's an ugly plant now(nay). But she was also completely distraught that her brother, who knew of her love of Espeon, would do this to her. When she returned to her parents, they were as confused as she. They were slightly angry but figured this would happen eventually, or she would stop on her own. They asked her, finally valuing her opinion, and she said she'd rather be anywhere but with them. Evolving into a Leafeon mellowed her out and she stopped minding what others thought of her. Her parents used some money they had saved up to send her to Faraway Island, hoping for the best for their daughter. Alden has not spoken to her brother since evolution.

She may seem like a tomboy but she is definitely not! Because of her pagent past, when she's alone she likes to try on beautiful dresses she got from her mom, although they don't really fit.
She has a little bit of skill in dancing. ;D
She knows this habit of acting like a princess in her spare time is unhealthy and has slight maniaphobia, or fear of insanity. She can't really stop though, dresses are like smokers and cigarettes for her. Even though she used to hate doing them, she likes being pretty alone.
Despite her closet-royalty act, she hates the topic of clothing and looks. 
She believes strongly in the power of the press and dislikes secrets (even though she has one haHAHA).
She almost always has her hair in a bun, high or low.
